HANDCRAFT, FARMING & COOKING
Children will explore the different qualities offered by materials coming from the Three Kingdoms of Nature, i.e. Animal Kingdom - as we work with the wool sheerer from our wooly sheep, make basic simple basket from the Plant Kingdom and work with Sand, Clay and Water from Mineral Kingdom . Children will also learn and practice homesteading 101 as they learn how to care for animals that provides the wool and the land that provides the food and learn livelong skills like basic cooking and handcraft like finger knitting and Knitting creating a "Full Circle Sustainable Class". Children who already know the basics of knitting will work on making little useful knitted articles taught by the teacher or inspired by their own creativity.
Children will explore social and natural connections with the outer world to encourage teamwork, inclusion and social cohesion. Children learn to build the necessary level of social skills required to support healthy competition in the coming years without disintegrating vital connections. As a holistic Waldorf program we will integrate these activities with the speech arts. We will also explore games from times past and from other cultures (Latin-America).
