Meet our Team
Silvana brings to Wawa-Wasi Schoolhouse 18 years of experience into our school as a Waldorf Parent, Teacher, therapist, facilitator and event coordinator.
Her journey to Waldorf Education and Rudolf Steiner Philosophy dates back to her college years. Upon finalizing her B.S.Ed. Science in Educational and earned a M.Ed. Special Education Silvana worked for several years performing many different educational roles. During this time, she was drawn back to Steiner Philosophy. Her love for Steiner Philosophy and Waldorf Education, became a passion and it only deepened along the journey. Her education continued with Foundation Studies workshops, classes and seminars which contributed tremendously in her teaching career in the Waldorf Educational Environment.
Silvana completed the Waldorf Early Childhood and Human Development training graduating in 2013; She has devoted her teaching professional career and experience to increase community awareness, share her passion for Steiner philosophy, Waldorf Education and love for Nature among parents and other stakeholders of education for our children.
In her efforts to bring awareness to Waldorf Education and Nature, Silvana started a local Waldorf and Nature Community groups seeking for those passionate about Waldorf education and Nature. At that time, local Waldorf and Nature based groups were non-existent in the Charlotte area.
Silvana is continually seeking opportunities to ensure her qualifications are up-to-date. She is currently completing the North Carolina Wildlife Environmental Master Naturalist Certification and working on her AWSNA Waldorf Certification.
Silvana finds joy in children and admires their innocence, goodness, openness, creativity, imagination, boldness and strong passion for life. She feels blessed and grateful to have the opportunity to spend her days mothering, homemaking, homeschooling the Waldorf way and homesteading amidst the happy presence of her son.
Silvana enjoys the great outdoors, reading, building community, volunteering with her son at local organizations, her farm animals and pets, a good sip of homemade Kombucha, Rose water kefir, and Matcha tea, yoga and meditation, opera, traveling and learning from other cultures, knitting, playing the flute and the forest school way with her son at Wild Child Natureschool
Silvana lives with her husband and her son in the living quarters of the Rosewood Cottage. Companions of their sweet and wild adventures are "Luna" their beloved dog, her cat "ferocious", sweeter than a sticky bun; her ever growing chicken flock, three happy wooly sheep, two voracious and rather silly goats, two fluffy dwarf rabbits and very soon a swarm of hard working lovely bees!
She is grateful and eager to meet and receive each child and family that comes her way!
