Below are a few projects your group can help us to complete.
If you are able to provide labor AND materials – That would be great! .

Volunteer Registration
​FALL & WINTER MONTHLY CHORES


Cottage indoors: 
  • Focus on cleaning and organizing Rosewood Cottage rooms: Rosewood family room, playroom, restroom and children dressing closet, craft room, kitchen.
  • Wash drapes and window treatments.
  • Clean baseboards and corners.
  • Clean window sills and window wells. 
  • Vacuum upholstered furniture, clean playroom rug. Move furniture and vacuum beneath and behind it.
  • Wash interior windows.
  • Inspect and Organize Rosewood kitchen supplies for cooking and baking. Make an Inventory. New equipment buying list.
  • Pull refrigerator away from the wall, and vacuum the condenser coils. For bottom-mounted coils, use a long, narrow brush to clean coils of dust and debris.
  • Wash light-diffusing bowls from light fixtures.
  • Check and empty the central vacuum's collection area.
  • Inspect washer hoses for bulges, cracks or splits. Replace them every other year.
  • Check dryer exhaust tube and vent for built-up lint, debris or birds' nests! Make sure the exterior vent door closes tightly when not in use.
  • Buy a winter's supply of furnace filters (Change filters monthly) 
  • Drain sediment from hot water heaters.


​Rosewood Cottage Outdoors (Farm, playgarden, Cottage exterior) 

  • Touch up paint on trim, railings and decks. Use a wire brush to remove flaking paint; prime bare wood first.
  • Check caulk around windows and doors. 
  • Inspect external doors and gates. Installation of weather-stripping, door thresholds if needed.
  • Wash exterior windows.
  • Drain and store garden hoses. Install insulating covers on exterior spigots. 
  • Check gutters and downspouts. Clear of debris if necessary. 
  • Clean leaves out of rain gutters

  • Clear trails (Ongoing)
    • Removing dead and fallen branches from nature trails. 
    • Cut big logs to make "cookies". 
    • Clearing the paths from leaves and forest debris. 
  • Build a Flagstone Pathway (Deck area)
  • Stepping stones for play garden and woodland entrance: Parents - Child project : Please watch the video to have a general idea of what is needed to do this project
  • Check play equipment in the playgarden, tree house and mud kitchen. Repair if needed.
  • Gathering leaves to add to our gardens 
  • Spread compost over gardens 
  • Barn and outbuildings clean up and repair.

  • Clear out all dead plants in the garden.
  • Fence mending 
  • Leaves raking
  • Winterize chicken coop
  • Build Firewood Storage 
  • All the equipment is washed and checked for needed repairs, so it is ready to use in the spring.
  • Bulbs and shrubs planting 
  • Hose draining and storage
