MR. Drew

Administration Manager & Grounds Development Assistant

​Mr. Drew was raised in their parents 80-acre farm in Upstate New York as the oldest of three children. 
One of his fondest childhood memories was exploring and playing in the woodlands and caring for all the family farm animals.
Passionate about coaching and working with others, Mr. Drew began his higher education at Genesee University graduating later as a Business Administrator and Management.

​Mr. Drew takes active roles in the life of the school organizing and developing the outdoor infrastructure, while sharing his husbandry, business, mechanical, administrative and great interpersonal skills with the Rosewood Community.
Mr. Drew is always happy to show the children all the hard work that entails caring for all our farm animals and the school grounds. You will see him chopping wood for our winter fires, repairing animals quarters, building and making toys and more.

Miss Kirsten 
ASSISTANT TEACHER - ROOTS
Miss Kirsten was born and raised in beautiful northern California. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from Brigham Young University. Wonderful nature attractions was key in her decision to move to North Carolina.
Teaching is Miss Kirsty's passion. In addition to spend part of her day sharing the joys and wonder of nature with young children at Rosewood, Miss Kirsty teaches private violin lessons following Suzuki and traditional teaching methods while sharing her deep love for music.
In her free time, she also enjoys baking, hiking, reading, and rock climbing.

Miss Silvana

ROOTS/WILD NEST

​Miss Silvana's teaching journey started more than 20 years ago in a sustainable and holistic early childhood program located along the slopes of Escazu Hill in the charming and picturesque town of San Miguel de Escazu, Costa Rica. There, Silvana had the wonderful opportunity to become involved with the local community outreach programs focus on vulnerable populations and wildlife. While working as a teacher and enjoying life greatly in the peaceful rural areas of Costa Rica, she volunteered as a part time teacher for school grade children of low income families.  She also volunteered in a big array of community outreach projects for wildlife conservation while deepening her love for nature, community service, holistic education and sustainable simple living.

Miss Silvana holds a Bachelor of Educational Sciences in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and a Master in Special Education and Learning Disabilities. Her education has continued with Waldorf Pedagogy, workshops and seminars throughout US and overseas which has contributed tremendously in her teaching career while deepening her love and commitment to Steiner Philosophy and Sustainable Education. 

​​MIss Silvana has a passion for teaching and Waldorf Philosophy, for the great outdoors and children's bold spirit. She loves reading, kneading, traveling, learning from other cultures and getting her hands dirty in the garden!  She loves volunteering for local organizations and participating in community outreach program to help those in need! 

Miss Silvana lives in Charlotte with her husband and spirited sweet boy surrounded by nature, the love of all the sweet Rosewood animals and Rosewood Community!
